In a near-future society, advanced psychological profiling can accurately predict an individual’s life trajectory based on their environment, relationships, and life choices with 100% certainty. Two young individuals, Amani and Kato, are both 19 years old and come from the same community:
- Amani is highly ambitious and has the opportunity to pursue a prestigious but extremely demanding career path abroad. The system predicts that while Amani will achieve significant success and social impact, they will experience chronic anxiety, emotional isolation, and long-term psychological distress.
- Kato chooses to remain within their local community, maintaining strong social ties and a slower-paced life. The system predicts that Kato will have stable, positive mental health and fulfilling relationships but will not achieve significant personal ambition or broader societal impact.
The system allows each individual to irreversibly commit to their predicted path, fully aware of the consequences. Society, families, and institutions actively encourage individuals to make “informed” choices based on these predictions.
